Interact Community Service Club
Purpose: The Interact Club is the high school component of Rotary International. The club is a service based organization for Central High School students. Members of the Interact Club are responsible for organizing and participating in community and international service projects.
Objective: Active Interact members are given unique opportunities to be directly involved both within the high school and surrounding community. They work to address and meet the needs of these communities in a giving spirit. Students who become members will benefit by increasing their leadership skills, working collaboratively together as a team, and increase their knowledge of community and world affairs.
Services and Opportunities Provided:
Walks for Diabetes, Cancer and the March of Dimes
Toys for Tots
Food Drives and Thanksgiving Food Baskets for Families
Adopt-A-Family at Christmas
Fundraising for Rotary Yearly International Projects
Construction of Baby Quilts
Purchasing Books and Making Hats for Preschool Children
Collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters
Participants at the New Generations Conference
Possible selection to attend RYLA Leadership Conference
Meeting Bridgeport Rotarians at Luncheons
Working with Rotarians on Community Projects Together
Raising funds for Natural Disasters if need arises
Eligibility: Open to all CHS students who want to help others and feel great while doing it!
Number of Youths Served: Typically we have 20-30 members per year and we are always looking for more!
